Adding a Codex: go for realism or gameplay?

One feature that has been asked for many times in the past was a place where you'll be able to track the amount of children sired, as well as find information of all deities, fiefdoms, buildings, Karder's stats etc. So in version 0.13 we'll add Codex containing all the information specified above (let me know if you'd want anything not specified!)

But I'm wondering where to put this Codex. From a more "realistic" approach, putting it in the palace would be the coolest. You go to the palace and you click a link, like going to the Dungeons or the palace yard. However, we could also make it always available from the left menu, so if you're in a middle of a quest and wish to remember who Chiroz is or if you're in the world map and would like to learn how buildings exactly work, it would be easier to have that info exactly where you are.

So what do you think? Realism to Quality of Life? Have the codex accessible only from the palace or from everywhere?

  1. The codex should be available only from the Palace
  2. The codex should be available from anywhere
  3. Both are good

QoL always for me. Games like these and in Renpy aren't immersive anyway so realism feels pointless.

2 but both would be great.

If some of these stats/lore are required in some missions (e.g. who to side with while in the "recon/diplomacy/spying" missions), then 2 is a must-have (except if you want to reload a previous save everytime you need some intel, but that would kill immersion twice as much as having an invisible Book of Lore in your character's invisible backpack).

I'll take QoL over Realism any time.

You can just do both. Those who want a realistic playing experience can just use the link in the palace and everybody else just uses the quick menu. What would be cool if there was a possibility the edit the quick menu. So e.p. you remove *Auto* cause you don't use it.
